Your council
Fort Worth-area units belong to Longhorn Council, Scouting America, whose "Where We Serve" page lists 23 counties: Bell, Bosque, Cooke, Coryell, Denton, Falls, Freestone, Hamilton, Hill, Hood, Jack, Johnson, Leon, Limestone, McLennan, Milam, Palo Pinto, Parker, Robertson, Somervell, Tarrant, Wise and Young.
The council's history page traces it to the Fort Worth Council, chartered in 1919 and renamed Longhorn Council in 1948, and says it merged with the Heart O' Texas Council in 2002.
Council camps
Worth Ranch (Palo Pinto County, acquired in 1929 for its first summer camp); Camp Tahuaya (a family adventure campground; the council homepage places it in Belton); and Sid Richardson Scout Ranch on Lake Bridgeport (first opened 1969). The camp-properties page also lists Hills and Hollows, a privately owned 25-acre site in Denton that Scouting units can use at select times.
